GOOD NEWS FROM THE TALLULA CHRISTIAN CHURCH 08-23-2020
Ophelia used to come on stage and give a big “How-Dee” to the audience. She always had a hat
on and if I remember it right, it had the price tag hanging off of the hat. You might ask who this
is and how does this relate to this message? She always seemed happy and up to the task of
sharing her good attitude with others.
Being a Christian, everyone should always have the patience and humility when dealing with our
fellow human beings. We want to challenge all this week to call someone, write them a card or
do something to brighten someone’s day and do it with the love in your heart that comes from
being a Christian. I personally have at least a handful of people I need to contact. So go about
your labor for Jesus Christ and do our labor for our Lord and not for ourselves.
Cecelia knows that Sarah Ophelia Colley Cannon was none other than Minnie Pearl, may she
rest in peace.
We invite you to come and worship with us here at the Tallula Christian Church. Sunday
worship services start a little after 10:30 am every Sunday morning. We are easy to find just
three short blocks north of downtown Tallula at 311 North Yates. And if you are not able to join
us, check out our website, tallulachristianchurch.com, and our Facebook page where videos of
the sermons are being posted. As we always say, “We’ll leave the light on for you, the light of
Christ.”
